Atarah speaks to Niall O'Riordan about her studies in Paris with Fernand Caratge in a time when the wooden flute was the predominant instrument used in Britain. She describes how he encouraged her to play more in the French style, which was then very different to the style of playing adopted by the British wooden flute players.
