| Lisa is an experienced and passionate teacher with over fifteen years of experience. She is also an accomplished flute player and performs throughout the UK and abroad. Lisa Friend started the flute aged five. At sixteen she studied in At seventeen, Lisa won a Scholarship to the Royal College of Music where she studied with Susan Milan. Twice winner of the Martin Music Scholarship then enabled her to study at the Paris Conservatoire with Alain Marion and Ida Ribera. As soloist, Lisa has appeared with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Prague Philharmonic, Liverpool Philharmonic and toured throughout the Lisa will be touring Korea in April 2010 and will also be giving a masterclass at the Dankook University, Seoul on the 7th April at 12:30pm In March, 2010 Lisa Friend's debut CD 'Deep in My Soul" was launched by Signum Classics also featuring violinist Rodney Friend. | Uberto Orlando is Senior Professor of Flute, Chamber Music, Theory and Harmony; in his 30-year long career he has been teaching in several Conservatories of Music as well as in independent music schools and to many private students. He teaches the Flute following the French School and the method of Paul Taffanel, Marcel Moyse and Sir James Galway. Uberto has a multifaceted musical background: his parents were fine and well known musicians; he studied Art, Classics and Philosophy. After his Diploma, he continued studying Flute in Siena with Severino Gazzelloni and Roberto Fabbriciani, in Rome with Adelio Alfieri and in Florence with Mario Ancillotti. He studied Orchestra Conducting in Turin, Composition in Florence and Computer Music with Pierre Boulez in Paris. In 1978 Uberto launched a successful career as a free-lance solo flutist, recording and performing across the world, including the USA, Europe, Russia, Africa, Central America and Japan. With his huge experience with students of all ages, Uberto has developed a unique holistic approach to music, integrating many different ideas into his teaching, from Zen to Yoga, from poetry and theatre to languages. His aim is to convey to his students the technical, emotional, artistic and creative experience of playing the flute as a whole.
